Baki Yılmaz completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Bandırma and received his medical degree at Eskişehir Osmangazi Faculty of Medicine. Baki Yılmaz completed his specialization at Istanbul Taksim Training and Research Hospital.

In 1994, Baki Yılmaz started his professional life  in Antalya as a practitioner. He passed a nationwide exam and completed his residency training in otolaryngology at Taksim Training and Research Hospital from 1998 to 2002. In 2004, he was appointed to Kütahya Gediz State Hospital as an Otolaryngologist, and the following year he returned to Istanbul as he was appointed to Umraniye Training and Research Hospital otolaryngology clinic. 

Serving until 2007, Baki Yılmaz continued his service in Tuzla State Hospital for 5 years after this year. In 2012, Baki Yılmaz was successful in the written and oral exam he took after his specialization and was appointed as chief assistant by the Ministry of Health and served as the Chief Instructor Assistant at Dr. Lütfi Kırdar Kartal Training and Research Hospital. 

In 2015, Baki Yılmaz applied to the Interuniversity Board with his academic file containing his scientific publications and professional studies, and upon the successful completion of an evaluation , he successfully passed the Associate Professorship exam at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine on April 1, 2016 and received the title of Associate Professor in the specialty of Otorhinolaryngology, and his full authorization name became Assoc. Dr. Baki Yılmaz.

In addition to all these, Baki Yılmaz has also studied a broad and developed his experiences. In 2004, he was an observer physician at UCSF (University of California San Francisco) with Prof. Andrew N. Goldberg on rhinology and sinus surgery and participated in advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, balloon sinusoplasty and snoring surgery courses organized by Michael Friedman and Dr. T.K Venkatesan in Chicago.
Baki Yılmaz was an observer physician at UIC University of Illinois at Chicago for nasal aesthetic surgery and facial aesthetic surgery under Prof. Dr. Dean Toriumi and Prof. Dr. J.Regan Thomas. In order to increase his experience in ear surgery, Baki Yılmaz visited Steven A. Telian, who has great experience in neurotology-otology, and the University of Michigan ENT clinic.
